Win a Circus Day: full terms

This is a free prize draw. There is nothing to buy and no purchase is necessary. Back to the entry page.

1. The promoter

2. Who can enter

1. Staff, governors and PTA members of a school in Yorkshire, aged 18 or over, entering on behalf of that school.
2. One entry per school. If a school is entered more than once we keep the first confirmed entry and remove the rest before the draw.
3. Employees of Yorkshire Circus and their immediate families cannot enter, and neither can anyone involved in running the draw.
4. Entry is free. There is no purchase, no payment and no premium rate number.

3. How to enter

1. Fill in the form at yorkshirecircus.co.uk/schools/win-a-circus-day/ any time from Monday 3 November 2026.
2. We email you a confirmation link. Click it and your entry is in the draw. The link works for seven days.
3. Entries that are never confirmed do not go in the draw, and we delete them after 14 days.
4. Entries close at 23:59 on Monday 1 December 2026. Anything arriving after that does not go in.

4. The prizes

1. First prize: one Circus Day at the winning school, in school hours, on a date agreed with the school. It comprises at least three circus leaders, at least three different circus workshops run for at least two groups each, and a demonstration performance. We bring all the equipment. The timetable, the group sizes and which children take part are agreed with the school after the draw, not set by us beforehand. There is no cash alternative.
2. The Circus Day is delivered anywhere in Yorkshire, and is taken in the spring or summer term of 2027. If the school drawn turns out not to be in Yorkshire its entry is invalid, and we draw again from the remaining confirmed entries, using the same published method.
3. The Circus Day cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred to another organisation.
4. 5 second prizes: after the first prize is drawn, five more schools are drawn at random from the remaining confirmed entries. Each one wins a free show: a performance by Yorkshire Circus performers, added to a school Circus Day that school books with Yorkshire Circus.
5. The Circus Day the free show is added to is booked by 31 March 2027, at our normal price for that day. The show is delivered on the day of that Circus Day. Winning a second prize does not make the Circus Day itself free, and does not change what it costs.
6. A second prize cannot be exchanged for cash, has no cash value, cannot be transferred to another organisation and is not given as a discount if no Circus Day is booked.
7. Every confirmed entry receives our Circus Day planning pack by email. The pack is not a prize; it is sent to everyone who confirms.

5. Referral links and linked schools

1. When your entry is confirmed you receive your own link. Anyone you send it to who enters through it is recorded as linked to your entry.
2. If the first prize is won by an entry that has a linked school, both schools receive a Circus Day, one each.
3. A winner has at most ONE linked school. If the winner entered through another school’s link, that school is the linked school. If the winner did not, but other schools entered through the winner’s link, the linked school is whichever of them confirmed first. We do not award more than two Circus Days in total.
4. Linked schools do not affect the second prizes, and a school that receives a Circus Day as a linked school is taken out of the second prize draw.
5. We never contact a school that has not entered itself. You send your link yourself, to whoever you choose, in your own words. We do not ask you for anyone else’s contact details and the entry form has nowhere to enter them.

6. The draw

1. The winner is drawn at random from all confirmed entries on Thursday 4 December 2026. There is no judging and no element of skill.
2. We film the draw, it takes place in public, and an independent person who is not connected to Yorkshire Circus watches it and confirms the result.
3. The draw uses a published method. We announce a random seed publicly before the draw starts. Each confirmed entry is ranked by an HMAC-SHA256 of its entry reference using that seed, the ranks are sorted, and the first is the winner. The next 5 entries that are not the winner or the winner’s linked school take the second prizes. Anyone can repeat the calculation from the published entry list and the published seed and get the same answer.
4. We publish the result on our social channels within two working days of the draw.

7. Telling the winners

1. We email the winners at the address on the entry within two working days of the draw.
2. If a winner does not reply within 14 days we draw again from the remaining confirmed entries, using the same published method.
3. We will name the winning schools publicly. We do not publish anyone’s name, email address or any other personal detail without asking first.

8. Your data

1. We collect the school name, your role, your name, your work email address, the school postcode, the age range and the term you would prefer. That is all.
2. We use it to run the draw, to send you the planning pack, and to arrange the prize if you win.
3. Entering means we may email you about circus workshops for your school. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link and one click is enough. Tell us to stop at any time by emailing hello@yorkshirecircus.co.uk and we will.
4. We keep confirmed entries for 12 months after the draw, then delete them. Entries that were never confirmed are deleted after 14 days.
5. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to anyone else.

9. The rest

1. We may cancel or change this draw if something makes it impossible to run fairly. If we do, we will say so on this page and explain why.
2. We can remove an entry that is not genuine, including automated entries and multiple entries for one school.
3. This draw is free to enter and decided by chance, so it is not a lottery under the Gambling Act 2005 and needs no registration.
4. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
